Tim Pettingale - Guitar

Tim is a jazz guitarist, author and educator based in Northamptonshire.

Rooted in the lineage of his mentors, Adrian Ingram and Dr Martin Taylor MBE, and shaped by private study with Julian Lage, Mike Stern, and Jonathan Kreisberg, Tim's playing carries both a deep respect for tradition and a restless, modern curiosity.

Tim has partnered on educational projects with a remarkable roster of musicians including John Patitucci, Jimmy Haslip, Mohini Dey, Robben Ford, Oz Noy, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Mark Whitfield, Allen Hinds, Martin Taylor and many more. He is the author of a bestselling series of jazz guitar tuition books that have reached players around the world.

He has performed at many of London's iconic venues – the Tate Modern, Tate Britain, Hilton Park Lane, The Savoy, The Lanesborough, The Dorchester, The Hurlingham Club, the Jazz Café, Pizza Express Jazz Club – and even performed aboard the historic Cutty Sark. His musical travels have also taken him to Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Greece, and Tuscany.

A versatile guitarist, Tim moves easily between contemporary jazz, straight-ahead bebop, modern fusion, funk, and blues.
